THE GÎTES

The Byrne
sleeps up to 17 in 6 bedrooms

All bedrooms have an ensuite shower, hand basin & toilet, and all upstairs is carpeted. All beds are provided with a quilt (13.5 tog), English pillows and extra blankets if needed. Linen is available to hire. Each bedroom does have space for a cot which can be supplied if necessary.

The Byrne

This is the middle section of the longere, very large & on two floors tastefully converted & decorated with exposed beams throughout to retain its character and charm. We originally let the property as two gites but, due to high demand by larger groups we now let as a whole. There are 2 front door entrances either end of the property.

The entrance by the La Porcherie Annex is a 3 pane patio door which overlooks the lake leading into the dining area which can seat up to 21. This is on two levels part carpet part tiled with a high ceiling and exposed beams & a stone/slate seating feature. An open plan tiled floor hallway leads to the low walled bar style kitchenette made from old oak beams giving it a unique character. It has a bottled gas cooker, large fridge 240 Lt, washing machine, microwave, electric kettle, toaster & coffee maker/expresso.

Two double bedrooms with carpet floors are opposite the kitchenette and the hallway continues to the shower room with hand basin & toilet and on to the 3rd bedroom with carpet floor, double bed & en-suite shower, hand basin & toilet, battery radio. At this point the hallway leads into The Byrne kitchen with bottled gas cooker, dishwasher, larger fridge 250 Lt, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, coffee maker, juice maker, chicken roaster, crèperie/raclette/grill, fondue set, iron/ ironing board, vacuum cleaner plus other electric gadgets: mixer/blender, grill, knife, pressure cookers also picnic sets & cool boxes with ice packs. From the kitchen you enter the 2 tier lounge with (an exterior front door leads to the patio), tiled flooring, oak beams & high ceiling, enclosed wood burner, 4 sofa’s, all overlooked by the spindled balustrade from upstairs. A spindled staircase leads to the carpeted landing with sofa & other seating, French colour T.V; D.V.D & hi-fi CD also toys/books & games. We have received many complements on this area with its mix of beams and exposed stone walling.

A doorway leads to an exposed beamed long carpet floored corridor decorated in charm & character to 3 family bedrooms each with carpet floors, exposed beams & en-suite shower rooms with hand basin & toilet. Bedroom 1 has 1 double & 2 singles with radio/alarm clock, window views the lake. Bedroom 2 has 1double & 1 single. Bedroom 3 has 1 double & 2 singles with electric radio. All beds are provided with 2 pillows per person a quilt of 13.5 tog & spare blankets. There are 3 cots – (1 wooden & 2 folding travel) baby blankets provided baby bath & high chair. Bed Linen is available to hire, (we also have plug in night lights).

Heating is by wood fire, electric convectors, bottled gas fires & electric oil filled radiators. cold air fans are also provided.

Outside is a large patio with garden furniture & barbecue

L'Etable
sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms

The lounge/dining area is set around an enclosed wood burning fire with dining table/chairs 3 piece suite (sofa can convert to a bed), French colour TV and mini Hi-fi (cassette & CD).

Situated to the left side of The Byrne is the oldest part of Les Preaux , the original house, but later used for animal housing it has now been tastefully converted & decorated into a family gite. With exposed beams throughout & tiled floors it retains quaint charm & character. The entrance is into an open plan lounge/dining room with fitted kitchenette and spindled staircase.

The kitchenette has bottled gas cooker, washing machine, fridge , microwave, electric kettle, toaster /grill, coffee maker & expresso, crèperie/raclette/grill, sandwich toaster, electric steamer, electric knife, fondue set, pressure cooker, iron/ironing board, vacuum cleaner also picnic set & cool box with ice packs. The dining area and 3 piece suite are set around an enclosed wood burner, French colour T.V; D.V.D. & mini hi-fi (CD &CASS) a doorway under the stairs leads to a shower room with hand basin & toilet.

The spindled staircase leads to 3 bedrooms with carpet flooring. There are 2 double bedrooms & 1 bedroom with a single bed & a child’s bed for 6yrs & under there is also a wooden cot with baby blankets & folding play cot & high chair. All the beds have 2 pillows per person, a quilt of 13.5 tog & extra blankets. Bed Linen is available to hire. There is also a radio/alarm clock & plug in night lights.

Heating is by wood fire; electric convectors oiled filled radiator/ bottled gas fire. Cold air fan is also provided.

Outside is a patio with garden furniture and barbecue.

La Fin
sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms

La Fin

This is the final conversion; a detached stone cottage opposite the longhouse with a private patio over looking the children’s play area & lake.

The entrance is into the lounge/dining room, this has a high ceiling with oak beams exposed and an open plan kitchenette, tiled flooring is throughout. The kitchenette has bottled gas cooker, dish washer, washing machine, large fridge, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, coffee maker & expresso, sandwich toaster, fondue set, wok crèperie/raclette/grill, pressure cooker & iron/ironing board also picnic set & cool bags with ice packs. D.V.D. & mini hi-fi ( CD / CASS ).

In front of the entrance is a staircase and to the right a doorway into the shower room with hand basin / vanity unit & toilet (child’s potty/trainer seat , step-up chair & baby bath).The 1st floor bedroom has carpet flooring, window viewing the lake & surrounding countryside & exposed beams there is a double bed and folding travel cot and electric radio. The 2 ground floor bedrooms are situated off the lounge area on a slightly raised level both bedrooms have carpet flooring, bedroom 1 has a double bed and bedroom 2 has a bunk bed. All the beds have 2 pillows per person, a quilt and spare blankets (double bed quilts are king size) Bed linen is available to hire. (We also have plug in night lights& a child’s bucket chair to attach to a dining chair).

Heating is by electric convectors & oil filled radiators/ bottled gas fires. Cold air fan is provided.

Outside is a private patio with garden furniture and barbecue.
