the RSPB in the UK we are delighted to help identify our "visitors"
like Golden Oriel, Black Kite, Hen Harrier, Hoopoo, Buzzards etc. Larger
animals can make spectacular entrances - deer, wild boar, badger at night.
In the sunshine wall and green lizards bask, in the rain black and yellow
salamanders dance. "Bugs" like crickets, grasshoppers (3" long),
stick insects and Colorado Beetle etc., are found and after dark glow worms
shine their green lights.
The lakeside provides a haven for colourful
damsel flies, kingfisher, moorhen, frogs and tree frogs.
Each gite has a good supply of tourist
information to plan your days here and we can provide additional information
that may not be mentioned.

 With 6
kilometers of the forest of Theil, Brittany, in the centre of ancient
oaks, rocks from 5 to 40 tons dominate the life of the village. Scientists
and archaeologists have long studied these mysterious rocks for
explanations but legend overrides the
rational explanations. "The fairies who are called Viviane, Morgane,
or Mélusine left there, the traces of their passage to prove to the men
their existence" explains Gerard, a young 30 year old farmer at the
village of the Rock. His parents taught him to be wary of the fairies whom
are blamed for the disappearance of children. They enter the houses and
exchange their children, of
fragile constitution against those of the peasants, considered to be
more robust. His parents never left him alone, only at the house.
"It is also said that the evenings of full moon, call the fairies".
Today, Gerard does not believe in it really any more, but one never
knows... he takes care to put the fairies on his side to protect his
family and the harvests |
